Summer Camp Staff

Raquel Wasson

Raquel is a third-year piano major and Fountain Scholar at the Fountain School of Performing Arts, Dalhousie University. She has studied piano under Ian Bent and Betty Ro and is currently studying with Peter Allen. Raquel also studies percussion and costume at the Fountain School. She has studied percussion with Mark Adams, Zoe Strutt, and D'arcy Gray, percussionist with Symphony Nova Scotia. Raquel is the Principal Percussionist in the Dalhousie Symphony Orchestra and has played in the Nova Scotia Youth Wind Ensemble for a number of years. Raquel absolutely loves kids and can't wait to share her knowledge with you this summer!

Emmanuel Solomon

Emmanuel is a Nigerian music student in his third year at the Fountain School of Performing Arts, Dalhousie University, with concentraion in Vocal Performance. He played the role of Ferrando in Mozart's Cosi fan tutte with Long Reach Opera Workshop in Toronto in 2018 and Tapioca in the Fountain School of Performing Arts prodcution of Emmanuel Chabrier's comic opera, L'etoile. He has performend several solo works and concerts across the city, including guest performances with the Nova Scotia Youth Orchestra and Symphony Nova Scotia. Being a lover of choral music, he has made international appearances in choral festivals in Germany and Russia. Emmanuel is currently a student tenor of Dr. Betty Allison. He loves dancing and singing in other non-classical musical genres, especially the pop music of North America, Africa, and the Caribbean, and he often performs them with his pop band, ECCLETIC.

Caitie Ahern

Caitie is a second-year French Horn major at Dalhousie University. She has studied under Mary Lee and is currently studying under David Parker, the Princial Horn for Symphony Nova Scotia. She has also studied with Philip Myers, a world-class soloist and the Principal Horn of the New York Philharmonic. Caitie is a Fountain Scholar and the Principal Horn of the Nova Scotia Youth Orchestra and co-principal of the Dalhousie Symphony Orchestra. Caitie will be performing as a soloist in Dalhousie's annual concerto competition. She has also sung in many choirs, including the Nova Scotia Youth choir. Caitie has been a competitive Irish dancer for thirteen years and has competed and performed across North America. She was a a member of the Nova Scotia Irish Dancers form 2015 to 2016 and performed in the Royal Nova Scotia International Tattoo and the Hamburg Police Show in Germany.

Luke Ahern

Luke is a fourth-year Kinesiology major at Dalhousie University and a Lockward Scholar. Luke is currently a leader for the PACE (Physically Active Children Excel) program at Mount Saint Vincent University, where he designs and plays games with kids to enrich their physical, creative, and social development. Luke has performed in the Dartmouth All-City Boys Choir and Capella Regalis Men and Boys Choir and currently sings in the King's Chorus. Luke has played trumpet in concert and jazz bands and has acted in multiple theater productions. He was also the lead vocalist and bass player in the boy band IBEATS. Luke is a gardening and nature enthusiast, and in his spare time, he enjoys painting with Bob Ross or spending time with family. Luke absolutely loves kids and is looking forward to delivering a wonderful and wholesome experience this summer!
